摂取 sesshu
Absorbing your fave like a nutrient.
What does sesshu mean?
A clinical word for intake — of food, vitamins, medicine — used for content. You 摂取 a new photo set the way a plant takes in sunlight. Ridiculous phrasing, completely sincere feeling.
Example
週末に推しの供給を摂取して、なんとか回復した。
I absorbed a weekend's worth of content about my fave and recovered.
Vibe
Who you can say this to, and how it lands.
Friends only Casual. Natural with friends, out of place at work or with strangers.
The story behind sesshu
摂取 is a word from nutrition labels and medical advice: intake of protein, of fluids, of calories. Fandom picked it up because it needed a verb for what happens when a new photo set drops and something in you visibly recovers. You do not look at content. You absorb it.
It comes as a matched pair with 供給, supply, borrowed straight from economics. Together they build a small ridiculous physiology in which the fan is an organism with a nutritional requirement and the creator is a distribution network. 供給が止まる, supply has stopped, is a real complaint. The vocabulary is deadpan, deliberately over-clinical, and completely sincere underneath.
