Literally "beautiful from all eight directions". Describes someone who agrees with whoever is in front of them. It sounds pretty, but it is a criticism — say it about yourself, not your friend.

The story behind happou bijin
八方 is the old way of saying everywhere: the eight points of the compass, the same eight that appear in 八方塞がり, blocked in all directions. So the phrase originally described a face that holds up from every angle. It was not necessarily an insult.
The meaning curdled. Today it means someone who agrees with whoever is standing in front of them, which is charming for about a week and unreliable forever after. The modern defence is worth hearing, though: with work, old friends, family and several online selves all running at once, being slightly different in each room may be less a character flaw than basic maintenance.
