ビジュ biju
The visuals are working today.
What does biju mean?
Clipped from ビジュアル. ビジュが良い is what you say about a good hair day, yours or somebody else's.
Example
今日は前髪が決まって、ビジュが良い。
My bangs cooperated today, so the visuals are good.
Vibe
Who you can say this to, and how it lands.
Friends only Casual. Natural with friends, out of place at work or with strangers.
The story behind biju
ビジュ is ビジュアル with the tail cut off, and the parent word has been at work in Japanese pop culture for decades, most visibly in the name of a music genre built on dramatic looks. Fandom kept it for the question of how somebody looks today, and the abbreviation made it fast enough to type mid-concert.
The modern uses are compact and enthusiastic. ビジュが良い for a good day, ビジュ爆発 when a photograph is genuinely dangerous. It works on idols, on friends, and on yourself in a lift mirror the moment your fringe agrees to cooperate. Nothing about it is modest, and that is rather the point.
